Modern 42 is an Australian-owned Microsoft 365 reseller and CSP partner that configures what it sells. We supply Microsoft 365 and Office 365 licences for small business through to enterprise, then switch on the Entra ID, Conditional Access, Defender and Purview security inside your subscription.
Identity and security are how Modern 42 got here, but the same engineers deliver the workloads your people actually live in — Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Intune and Active Directory — and the automation that keeps them flowing. One platform. One accountable delivery team.
Where work happens
Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange and Copilot migrated, governed and rolled out with adoption support — not just a tenant handover.
Every device, current
Intune, Autopilot, Windows Update for Business and app protection — zero-touch enrolment, drift detection and BYOD that is actually safe.
The front door, hardened
Active Directory, Entra ID, Entra Connect, Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management — built for the identity model your business actually has.
Threat & data protection
Defender XDR, Purview, sensitivity labels and DLP switched on past the defaults — the security capability that came with the licence, actually deployed.
We map licence selection to the workloads your business actually needs, then deploy with code — Bicep, Microsoft Graph PowerShell and DevOps pipelines. The next change is a pull request, not a runbook, and Sharepoint, Exchange and Intune scale without becoming brittle.
Tools and guides for every stage, from a quick price check to a full secure deployment. Each one is built and kept current by our team.

Sovereign, Australian-owned Microsoft 365 licensing for ACT government, Defence industry and Canberra commercial firms.
Business Premium, E3 and E5 are among the most capable security platforms an Australian organisation can buy. The problem is never the licence. It is that the protection ships switched off, and stays that way.
Same licence. Same tenant. Switched on.
The licence renews every year. The protection it pays for never ships. That gap is what Modern 42 closes. We are a licensing partner and an identity-security specialist in one team, so the people who sell you the plan are the people who deploy and harden it.
The capabilities your licence already includes, deployed properly. We name the licence tier each one needs so you buy the right plan, not the most expensive one.

Plan a Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness reviewA licence buys access to these tools. Configuration buys the protection. Reaching and holding a target security posture, such as an Essential Eight maturity level, takes engineering and ongoing operation regardless of the tier you are on. See our Essential Eight to Microsoft 365 mapping for the control-by-control detail.
One accountable team across the whole lifecycle, instead of a reseller for the invoice and someone else for the security.
We review your plan mix, seat count and renewal dates, model the 1 July 2026 price changes, and recommend the right tier. You can buy through us as your CSP, or keep your licences where they are.

Frontline workers (warehouse, retail, manufacturing) usually sit on Microsoft 365 F1 or F3. Microsoft 365 Copilot is a paid add-on on top of an eligible base plan. The short answer for how Australian businesses actually buy Microsoft 365 today, and where a CSP partner like Modern 42 fits in the picture.
Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) is Microsoft's standard reseller channel. As your Australian CSP partner, Modern 42 supplies your Microsoft 365 and Office 365 licences, invoices in AUD, runs mixed plans for different teams on a single subscription, and stays accountable for the licensing relationship.
The New Commerce Experience (NCE) is the commercial model every CSP subscription runs under today. It defines annual vs monthly pricing, allows seat increases mid-term but reductions only at renewal, and is what our pricing calculator models. There is no separate non-NCE price for new Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
Microsoft does not undercut its own CSP partners; headline list prices are the same either way. Buying through an Australian CSP partner adds local AUD invoicing, a single Australian point of contact, mixed-plan flexibility, and security configuration baked into the same engagement when you partner with Modern 42.
Under NCE, monthly commitment is roughly 20% more expensive per seat than annual. Annual is the right call for stable headcount and still allows seat additions mid-term. Monthly only earns its premium when seat counts move up and down fast: project staff, seasonal hiring, or rapid scale-ups.
Microsoft has confirmed price increases from 1 July 2026 across several Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans. The new price applies at your next renewal after 1 July, so a pre-renewal review now can both lock current pricing and tighten your security posture at the same time.
Australian dollar pricing is indicative until Microsoft publishes local rates. Modern 42 confirms exact CSP pricing on quote (figures as at May 2026).
